Well the Army married kids are now here living with Sloan. What a mess, trying to find these kids a job while they wait for active duty. To say the least they are not happy living with mom. Mom has house rules. Spending money they do not yet have, buying a puppy and all sorts of things they do not need. Uncle Sam, please call these kids up. They will be good soldiers.

Army Daughter
Sloan got some rather shocking news a few days ago. She has a 18 year old daughter that just finised Army boot camp in Feburary. The daughter is now in the inactive reserve waiting for a certain school to open up that she wants to go to. After being home only a week or so she wanted to go back to wherever she went through boot camp to see a friend, a male friend. Well she did and stayed about a week and came back home. All she has done since being back home was talk about this guy. Sloan felt very funny about the whole thing and ask her several times if they were married, of course daughter said, "heavens no mother". Last week she decided to go see him again and while she was on this visit called Sloan to let her know "yes we are married". Needless to say Sloan is very upset, mostly because a wedding is something a mother and daughter should share. Now we are all trying to help these kids figure out what they are going to do and make a living. If anyone has any good free advice please let us hear it.
All we can do is support them and pray everything works out. 18 is much to young for marriage but maybe they will make it.

Bad Day At Work
Guess I should tell you about the worst day in our lives here at the stores. About 2 months ago we had a horrible car wreck on the highway right in front of the store. The SUV flipped several times after leaving the road a very high rate of speed. The woman in the vehicle was thrown out after several flips. We were running across the highway to the scene before the truck stopped flipping. Sloan took over. She was telling us all what we needed to be doing. She was with this lady applying pressure to some areas that needed some attention. I'm pretty sure the victim was so far out of it she didn't hear a thing that was going on but Sloan talked to her and did everything to comfort this woman until the pros arrived. They did arrive very quick and were able to stabilize the woman and got her on Life Flight.
Last we heard the woman will be okay some day, still has a lot of operations and therepy in front of her but will be okay some day.
After everything had slowed down a little I remember asking Sloan if she had ever been around anything like that, she said "never". She said she was just doing what needed to be done. She did a great job, so glad she's my neighbor. I think she had a lot to do with saving that womans life.

Sloan is a almost 40 year old, very married and very happy. She has 5 wonderful kids. One in college, one in the Army ( waiting to go to Iraq), one in high school, and two in grade school. Now you would think this would be enough to keep a person busy 24 hours a day. Not this girl, she puts at least 8 hours aday at the store, goes home does homework with the little ones, has some fun time with them, feeds them and off to bed, by this time I would be worn out, not her. The rest of the evening and well into the early morning hours she is busy pricing items for her store.
Guess this is why she stays so slim and trim, works and on the go all the time.

North Zulch?
There is no Zulch. There is no East Zulch, no South Zulch and no West Zulch, so I have no idea how they came up with North Zulch as the name of the town. But that is where Sloan grew up. No kidding, North Zulch. That is not too far from Normangee. And Bedias. And Leona!
Can you imagine?

My Neighbor Sloan!
When I started my furniture consignment business I moved in next door to SLOAN. Sloan has the clothing consignment store next door. Sloan sells cloths, shoes, and jewelry and I sell everthing else. Now back to Sloan, this is the hardest working little Texas gal you have ever seen, she makes me tired just watching her.
I have Sloan stories to tell. Don't dare miss this.
